Wait for Me in the Alley

Friend betrays narrator to mafia don; three years captive, escaped, then recaptured.

A visit to Chicago with a friend turns into a nightmare when the friend's boyfriend drives them to an isolated factory, locks the narrator in a room, and reveals the friend accepted twenty thousand dollars for her. Suited enforcers wearing the inverted-dagger-and-thorn crest of New York mafia don Caleb Richardson take charge. The narrator spends three years as his prisoner before barely escaping with her life, only to find herself handed back into his control.
